Stormwater Sampling & Monitoring

Throughout Wisconsin, industry-specific stormwater discharge permits require routine discharge monitoring and testing.  Badger Labs will consult with you on your permit and stormwater pollution prevention plan (SWPPP) requirements and customize a stormwater sampling and monitoring program to your facility. This ensures you have the proper number of sampling kits available during storm events to satisfy your industry-specific regulatory compliance requirements.

You can then choose to collect the sample yourself with Badger Labs sampling kits or have our experienced field technicians visit your site during rain events to collect samples for you. Our environmental field staff are trained in the most accurate sample collection practices to avoid sample contamination from dirt, debris and other particulates.

If you choose the collect-it-yourself storm-water sample kit, it will arrive in a cooler and include the sample bottle(s) and necessary paperwork. Once the analysis is complete, you’ll receive a digital report via email which can also be downloaded in multiple formats through Badger Portal, our online customer portal.

Visit our Laboratory Analytical Services page for more details on the analytical services we have available.

Stormwater Infiltration/Inflow (I/I) Monitoring

Stormwater Infiltration and Inflow into municipal sewer systems poses many challenges to municipalities.  One method for obtaining data and correcting I/I is by stormwater flow monitoring throughout the sewer system and pinpointing areas of concern for further investigation and repair.  This crucial data helps municipalities stay in compliance with federal and Clean Water Act requirements. Badger Labs experienced field crew has been deploying state of the art flow monitoring equipment and providing valuable data to municipalities and engineering firms for over 20 years.  Our experienced environmental technicians are Hazwopper, Confined Space and CPR/First Aid certified.

Our stormwater flow monitoring equipment monitors flow rates and volumes and then communicates the data to our servers with the option of real-time online portal access of data for clients. This allows you to determine the most critical piping needing maintenance or replacement.

If you’d like to discuss stormwater flow monitoring, please contact us to request a consultation or appointment.
